Back to Anglesey

Breakfast with K who's on days from today. Pete leaves at 6am. Fridge back on and stuff remembered from indoors. Easy drive, from Conwy onwards the route is v scenic. First Menai Bridge town car park too small, second Maes Parcio Waun needed coins!! Found a paybyphone option. Pee in van v good. Horizontal rain. Headed straight to Dylans looking over Menai Strait. Restaurant rather than cafe. Due to weather treated myself to an early pizza lunch - excellent. Sadly no letup in rain so no strolling in town. Not much to stroll to, to be honest, just Strait views.

40 mins to Bull Bay at the top. Rain stopped. 1 hour walk along cliffs. Circular walk goes back inland, figured that would be soggy so turned back early, cliffs in reverse. As I reached the van the rain came on again. What luck. Drove on round the island anticlockwise then a B road across the middle to Penrhos site. Identical to the previous Coed-Y-Llwyn site - perhaps all CAMCs are the same.

Anglesey seems unremarkable, pleasant, quiet, small scale. B roads are good 2-lane, anything below that looks like single track.

Campsites in August are full of exuberant kids and dogs - must avoid in future years. Just watched a man brush his elderly lab and leave all the hair sitting on the grass. Tempted to suggest he picks it up, but don't want flat tyres or keying :-(
